The diverse backgrounds make this team a wonder.

Family History

A Legacy of Vision, Adaptability, and Generational Impact

The roots of Shevet Capital trace back nearly a century to the story of the Werthein family, a story of vision, resilience, and transformation that began in 1928, when León Werthein and his brothers arrived in Argentina from Bessarabia (present-day Moldova). Seeking opportunity in a new land, they planted the seeds of what would become one of Latin America’s most respected multigenerational business families.

What began as a small agricultural venture evolved over the decades into a diversified group spanning telecommunications, media, finance, agribusiness, food and beverage, insurance, and real estate. This evolution wasn’t just about growth, it was about adapting to the times while staying rooted in values: integrity, long-term thinking, and community engagement.

From cattle genetics and rural development in the Pampas to pioneering telecom and media deals across Latin America, the Werthein name has become synonymous with trust, innovation, and strategic foresight. Through Grupo Werthein, the family has built and led transformative enterprises that shaped markets and improved lives—always with a deep understanding that business is a tool for impact.

A New Chapter: Shevet Capital

Today, Shevet Capital represents the next generation of this legacy. Co-founded by Dario Werthein and his daughters, Roberta and Francesca, Shevet builds on the family’s rich experience while expanding its focus into new domains: emerging technologies, purpose-driven ventures, cultural innovation, and global impact investing.

The name Shevet, which means “tribe” or “lineage” in Hebrew, honors the family's values of unity, responsibility, and continuity. It reflects both a reverence for heritage and a forward-looking approach to capital: relational, strategic, and deeply personal.

At Shevet Capital, the family’s story continues, not only through the projects it supports but through the values it embodies. It is a story still being written, with each investment serving as a new chapter in a living legacy.
